Introduction

Welcome to my website! My name is Kim Martini, and I am currently a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher at Taft Grade School in Lockport, IL. This is my second year teaching at Taft, and I previously taught 7th-8th grade Language Arts at Minooka Junior High School for four years. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University, my first master's degree in School Counseling from Concordia University Chicago, and am currently working on my second master's in the Principal Preparation Program at Aurora University. Feel free to browse through my website to get to know me a little bit better!

Principal's Philosophy

As educational leaders administrators are required to articulate core beliefs, assumptions and values regarding education. My vision as a school leader includes providing a safe and physically comfortable learning environment that promotes academic achievement, a school where students’ self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect between students and faculty, classrooms where instructional practices incorporate instructional activities which consider different learning styles, a school where teachers, students, parents and the community share the responsibility for supporting the school’s mission and a culturally diverse school which seeks to empower students, staff, parents and the community to have a sense of ownership and pride in the school.

I invite you to come visit our school and learn more about Taft's philosophy for preparing your child for success.
